IMPORTANT
NOTE: Never assume the directory structures exist in your system
as written in the document. Never blindly follow security

Take the following steps to remove
unnecessary applications from a Windows server.

Log into the server as the administrator.

Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel.

Click on Add or Remove Programs.

Click on Add / Remove Window Components.
-
Click on Components.
-
Select Accessories and Utilities.
-
Click on Details.
-
Uncheck Games.
-
Uncheck Multi-Media.
-
Click OK.
-
Click on Next, Next.
You may also want to review what is in
Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs (the general
listing).
Then review the installed programs.
Always follow the rule that if you are not sure what the program does,
DO NOT remove it until you find out; that way, you don't break
things that are working. |
