ShopSite 8.1 Released By Peter M. Abraham July 2006 ShopSite 8.1 has been released by ShopSite Corporation. Our E-Basic and E-Pro customers, who rent the software from us, have already been upgraded. If you have purchased the ShopSite license from us, please read the ShopSite upgrade information sheet.  For those who qualify for a free upgrade, please email our support department to request the upgrade.  Please include your Parallels H-Sphere user ID, your domain name, the Web page address of your ShopSite back office, and your ShopSite user id and password for the back office. The following are the new features present in ShopSite 8.1 New Features in ShopSite 8.1 Add an Auction (Pro, Manager, Starter) List products in your ShopSite store on eBay auctions quickly and easily. Page and Product Databases in SQL (Pro, Manager, Starter) Page and Product information is now stored in an SQL database. VISA CISP/PABP Compliant (Pro, Manager, Starter) ShopSite has passed VISA's Payment Application Best Practices (PABP) validation. When properly configured, ShopSite stores meet the requirements for storing and processing credit card information safely and securely. For more information, see PCI Security Practices. Orders Merchant Key Encryption (Pro, Manager, Starter) New Public/Private key encryption can be enabled to improve security for stored credit cards. Security Status (Pro, Manager, Starter) A Security Status indicator has been added to the Orders screen to improve merchant awareness of security settings. One Year Orders Audit Log (Pro, Manager, Starter) Order audit logs are stored for a full year, with automatic monthly rotation. Header/Footer for Packing Slip (Pro, Manager, Starter) Packing Slips and Orders can include a customizable Header or Footer. Packing Slips can also be configured to hide or display monetary information. Payment Gateways Google Checkout (Pro, Manager, Starter) The new Google Checkout has been integrated into ShopSite 8.1. PayPal Website Payments Pro support for Authorization Mode (Pro, Manager, Starter) Support for Auth (separate authorization and capture) mode added to PayPal Website Payments Pro. NetBanx (Pro, Manager, Starter) ShopSite now supports the UK based NetBanx payment gateway. Shipping FedEx Support (Pro, Manager) Real-time FedEx shipping rates can be calculated in the shopping cart. Templates Two New Themes (Pro, Manager, Starter) Two new themes with templates for all the customer screens (including Shopping Cart, Search, etc.) have been added. Tabbed Theme supports Gift Certificates, Tell A Friend, etc. (Pro, Manager, Starter) The Tabbed theme now has its own templates for all the customer screens, as well as support for most features, including Tell A Friend and Gift Certificates. New Colors for Some Themes (Pro, Manager, Starter) The Awesome Theme has added Blue, Teal, and Violet color schemes to the original Orange. The Elite Theme also has several new color schemes available. Miscellaneous Order Anywhere Merchant Product Search (Pro) Merchants using the Order Anywhere feature can now use merchant Product Search functionality to find specific products on the Order Anywhere screen. Page Merchant Search (Pro) Search functionality has been added to the merchant Page interface, allowing merchants to easily find pages meeting specified criteria. Title/Meta Data Tags in More Info Pages (Pro, Manager) More Info Pages now include fields to indicate HTML Title, Meta Keyword, and Meta Description tag content. Store Pages also have a field for HTML Title tag content. Order API Enhancement (Pro) Merchants can configure whether or not to pass credit card information to the Order API. New Features in ShopSite 8.0 Rewards (Pro) Reward loyal customers and encourage new customers with rewards such as "buy 10 get 1 free" or "buy two pairs of shoes, get a free pair of socks". Rewards can be set up per-order, or over time for registered customers. Searchable Orders DB Merchants with Pro stores can now search on various fields such as Order Date, New, Order Number, Orders with Coupons, etc. Tell A Friend (Pro, Manager) Store Pages and Product More Info Pages can have links that allow visitors to send an acquaintance an E-mail containing a short message and a link to the page. Create/Modify Gift Certificates (Pro) Merchants can now create Gift Certificates in the back office, as well as editing the balance of existing Gift Certificates. Shopping Cart Ordering Options can not be changed (Pro) Merchants can select not to allow customers to change order options from the Shopping Cart screen. No Warning about leaving a Secure Page Users with JavaScript enabled will not see a warning when going back to the non-secure Order screen from the secure Billing/Shipping screen. Payment Errors display on the Billing/Shipping screen When using an automated payment gateway, errors are now displayed on the standard Billing/Shipping screen, rather than on their own screen. E-mail address Validation Merchants can select to display a second E-mail address entry box, which must match the first E-mail address, to confirm the customer has entered the correct E-mail address. Orders Packing Slips ShopSite now allows merchants to view and print Packing Slips for order fulfilment. Packing slips contain all the important order information except the billing information, so order fulfilment staff don't have access to customer credit card numbers. Order Download Format (Pro, Manager) When downloading orders, merchants can now pick which fields to download, and the order in which they will be downloaded. In addition, order fields can be renamed to match local database field names prior to download. Automated XML Order Download in Manager (Manager) ShopSite Manager stores will now allow merchants to download orders in XML format using the automated XML download API. This allows Manager merchants to use the QuickBooks Order Transfer Module. ShopSite Transaction ID ShopSite now creates and stores an order Transaction ID number, which it passes to gateways. Merchants can use this number to easily match payment information in a Virtual Terminal to a specific ShopSite order. Print Order A Print button is displayed on the View Order screen, so merchants can print the order to a local printer. Option Not to Store Credit Card Numbers Merchants using real-time payment gateways can choose to never store Credit Card numbers in order to comply with Visa security guidlines (similar guidelines exist for MasterCard, Discover, and American Express). Option Not to store Payment Information in Customer Registration (Pro) Merchants can select not to allow customers to store payment information in their Customer Registration settings, in order to comply with Credit Card security guidelines. Payment Gateways PayPal Website Payments Pro ShopSite supports PayPal's new payment system offering. Verified By Visa Verisign payment gateway now supports the Verified By Visa program. Verisign Fraud Control ShopSite passes the information required by Verisign's Fraud Control system, allowing merchants to participate in the program. PSiGate the PSiGate payment gateway, which works with both Canadian and United States merchant accounts, is now integrated with ShopSite. Shipping More Shipping Columns (Pro, Manager) Merchants using weight-based or currency-based shipping can now set up as many as 100 different shipping options. Templates Display Inventory (Pro) New Custom Template tags have been created to allow merchants to display realtime inventory numbers in a pop-up window. Themes set Search, Cart, and other Templates ShopSite themes can now set templates and colors for the Shopping Cart, Search (Pro, Manager), Customer Registration (Pro), Gift Certificates (Pro), and Tell A Friend (Pro, Manager), in addition to Pages and Products.* Subproduct More Information Page Templates Subproducts can now use their own template for More Information pages, rather than using the More Information page template of the parent product. Miscellaneous Color Wheel Color selection throughout the ShopSite back office now displays a swatch with the selected color, and uses a visual color wheel selection tool. Page/Product Download (Pro, Manager) When downloading Page or Product information, merchants can now specify individual fields and the download order, as well as changing downloaded field names to match with locally stored database field names. Option not to index subproducts (Pro, Manager) Merchants can choose not to index subproducts, so only parent products are found during a search. * - Currently, only the 2 new themes have a complete set of matching templates. Earlier themes which did not have full template sets will continue to behave as they did in prior versions of ShopSite.
