All I want for Christmas is a clean in-box

You probably don’t have to read the various news
articles – “Spam
Doubles, Finding New Ways to Deliver Itself”, “Spam:
now made in China,” – to know that the spam volume problem is
getting to be a nightmare.
In previous years, we fought the spam nightmare by
tagging suspected spam as “*** SPAM ***” and clients like yourself simply
filtered that email to a junk box or used it as a quick guide for removing
mail.
Reviewing the tagged messages in the junk box took time
and as spam got worse, chances of false positives continued to rise.
In our continued fight, we added RBL’s – real time
black hole lists – to outright block spam; but in 2006 as “Bot
spreads through anti-virus, Windows flaws” innocent customers like
yourself found out that, just because you rebooted your PC or modem, you now
have a dirty IP address that sent out real spam, but you are being blamed
for it (by having your IP address blocked).
Traditional technology like Barracuda relies on Spam
Assassin (what we have been using) to score words and phrases; and that
would just give us a better way to deliver the same problems to your
in-box. Couldn’t something like virus signatures be developed so that just
because you used the word for a body part in your email, you wouldn’t be
called a spammer?
The Dynamic Net family knew we had to do something, but
it needed to be something that kept your inbox clean, made it easier for you
to double check for that important email, and would scrub/sort mail as
accurately as possible. After extensive research and testing, we think
we’ve found an answer.
Welcome DNI Mail Complete tm!
DNI’s Mail Complete is a layered hardware and software appliance which scans
email before it gets to our mail server, and places suspected spam (captured
viruses and emails which would have been blocked by RBL’s) into quarantine.
Once every business day, full quarantine reports are delivered directly to
your email box for effortless checks to make sure your mail has been
properly sorted.
DNI Mail Complete uses spam signatures including
OCR (optical character recognition) to help detect image spam; spam
signatures are updated every five minutes.
We are in the process of adding all of your email
accounts to DNI Mail Complete for a free 30-day trial. Once added,
every week day, for any email address on your account that received brand
new items that went to quarantine, you will get one daily digest report of
what’s new. This easy-to-understand email report allows you to view the
email through your web browser, and release the email to your inbox might be
valid.
A gigantic plus for DNI Mail Complete, is you
won’t have to do a thing to take advantage of this new feature. There are
no setting changes to be made on your end and because you get less spam in
your mail boxes (with an easier way to find if an important email came in
which is being held for you) your daily email work load will get a lot
lighter! (beta testers are stating they are saving a minimum of 15-minutes
per day per email address).
Our goal is to have every Parallels H-Sphere customer added to
DNI Mail Complete before Christmas 2006.
Other companies charge anywhere from $1.00 to $3.00 per
email box for a similar service which requires you to make email
setting changes, and still have blocked email due to RBL’s. If an average
domain has eight (8) email boxes, this would run $8.00 to $24.00 per month.
For larger companies that have hundreds of email boxes, they would be paying
between $300 or more per month!
After the free trial, we are going to be upgrading each
shared hosting plan for just $4.95 per month (paid by existing payment terms
– quarterly or annually)! Each shared hosting account will still have the
ability to host unlimited domains and every single email address will be
included in that one low price!
Additionally, customers on the DNI Mail Complete
service will have the custom Spam Assassin white list / black list feature
that you were previously paying $0.25 per mail box to use at no charge!
If (after the free-trial, ending Monday, January 29,
2007) you do not want the DNI Mail Complete service, let us know, and
we will downgrade your hosting plan removing only this service, but we think
you’ll be all to happy to keep it!
